ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Peshawar, Swat, and Chitral, late Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) National Seismic Monitoring Center (NSMC), the earthquake struck at 4:30 pm, with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale and a depth of 196 kilometres.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush mountain region, the Met Office said.
The tremors were also felt in Malakand, Mansehra, Shangla, Mohmand, Abbottabad, Battagram, Mardan, and Buner.
