ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Extremely strict security arrangements have been made in Islamabad in view of the potential arrival of foreign delegations in the federal capital.
The Red Zone and its extended areas have been completely sealed for all types of traffic. Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive alternative traffic plan for the convenience of citizens and has imposed a ban on the entry of heavy traffic until further notice.
According to details, the Expressway from Koral to Zero Point will remain closed for traffic, while traffic flow on Srinagar Highway may also be affected at various points.
The administration has instructed commuters to avoid traveling towards Islamabad during these days. Under the traffic plan, residents of G-5, G-6, G-7, F-6, and F-7 will use Margalla Road and Ninth Avenue to travel to and from Rawalpindi, while traffic coming from Faisal Avenue and Zero Point will also be diverted towards Ninth Avenue.
According to special instructions issued for heavy traffic, vehicles going from Peshawar to Lahore can use the Motorway from Taxila, Chakri Interchange, and Chak Beli Road to reach Rawat GT Road.
