Ishaq Dar, Saudi counterpart discuss latest regional situation

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar made a telephone call to Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan to discuss the latest regional situation.
During this important conversation, both leaders discussed in detail the regional situation and diplomatic matters.

Both the dignitaries expressed satisfaction and strongly welcomed the reaching of the final stage of ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran.

Dar informed his Saudi counterpart that matters between the United States and Iran have almost been settled, adding a formal electronic signing ceremony for this most important agreement is scheduled for tomorrow.

Both leaders expressed hope that this agreement would be extremely helpful in bringing lasting peace, security, and sustainable stability to the entire region.

Saudi Foreign Minister

Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi Foreign Minister praised Pakistan’s positive role and stated that Pakistan’s continuous diplomatic efforts for dialogue and mediation between the two countries are highly commendable.

During the phone conversation, both foreign ministers also discussed the upcoming four regional foreign ministers meeting.

This crucial four-nation meeting will be held in Egypt at the end of this month, where further discussions will take place on regional security and mutual cooperation.

This contact comes at a time when major global changes are occurring. Such contacts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reflect strong fraternal relations between the two nations and their similar stance on important regional issues.

Experts believe that the potential agreement between the US and Iran will reduce tension in the Gulf and the entire Middle East, which will benefit all regional countries, including Pakistan.

Pakistan has long been striving for peace in the region, and this recent development is being hailed as a major success of Pakistani foreign policy, which Saudi Arabia itself has acknowledged.
