ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support during recent regional tensions and praised the role played by COAS and CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in negotiations and diplomatic efforts.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, the Iranian envoy thanked the people of Pakistan for their support and solidarity during a challenging period for Iran.

The ambassador stated that Iran remains open to negotiations and dialogue but emphasized that any future discussions must respect and protect Iran’s national interests.

He reiterated that Iran would continue to safeguard its sovereignty and strategic priorities in all diplomatic engagements.

Discussing Iran’s nuclear program, Reza Amiri Moqadam said there is a distinction between uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes and enrichment for military applications. He maintained that Iran’s position on its nuclear activities is based on its national rights and international obligations.

The envoy also criticized what he described as Western pressure on Iran and rejected suggestions that external actors could compel Tehran to alter its regional policies. He asserted that Iran would continue to pursue its interests independently and would not yield to foreign pressure.

Referring to recent regional developments, the ambassador said Iran had demonstrated resilience and confidence in dealing with security challenges. He argued that diplomatic engagement, backed by national strength, had contributed to positive outcomes during a period of heightened tensions.
