ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): iPhones are likely to become more expensive in Pakistan following the announcement by Apple’s outgoing CEO, Tim Cook, that prices on the company’s products will increase due to rising costs of parts and the memory crisis globally.

In an exclusive interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook said, “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable. I have never seen such market conditions in my 40-year career.”

He further said, “We are trying our best to reduce the impact of the heavy costs that are being passed on to us and protect our customers from this increase, but now the situation has become unbearable.”

Apple’s decision will have a direct impact on the Pakistani market, and iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads will become more expensive here too.

According to the report, Apple has no official or local presence in Pakistan, due to which Pakistani customers do not get the benefit of any ‘regional pricing’ on iPhones, and prices here are increasing at the same rate as the global market.

On the contrary, since Samsung officially operates in Pakistan and also has a local assembly plant, despite the increase in prices globally, Samsung recently launched its ‘Galaxy S26’ series in Pakistan at much better prices than in the US and other countries.

How much will price increase?

After the conclusion of the annual conference ‘WWDC 2026’, Apple is ready to introduce its new iPhone 18 lineup a few months from now, the prices of which are expected to be higher than the previous generation.

In addition, the new MacBooks and iPads coming later this year and Apple products already on the market may also become expensive due to the increasing demand for artificial intelligence and the shortage of components.

It should be noted that not only Apple but also large companies such as Samsung, HP, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Valve are worried about the rising prices and supply problems of RAM.
