IGP AJK reviews security arrangements at Muzaffarabad polling stations

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Captain (retd) Liaquat Ali Malik, visited various polling stations of Muzaffarabad division during the election process.

The AJK IG reviewed the security arrangements in detail and met the police officers and personnel on duty and appreciated their performance.

During the visit, the IGP inspected the election arrangements and the overall security situation at various polling stations.

On this occasion, an enthusiastic rush of voters was seen at the polling stations, where women, the elderly, and youth arrived along with their families to exercise their right to vote.

On this occasion, the IG Police reiterated the commitment that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police is performing its duties at every moment to ensure a peaceful, safe and transparent election process for the people.

Polling time extended by one hour in second phase of AJK elections

In the second phase of Azad Kashmir elections, the Election Commission has extended the polling process by one hour.

The polling process for 9 seats of Muzaffarabad division and 12 seats of Muhajireen began at 8 am and was to continue till 5 pm.

According to the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir, polling in Muzaffarabad division will continue till 6 pm.

Voters of Muzaffarabad division will now be able to exercise their right to vote till 6 pm. Considering the large number of voters, the polling time has been extended by one hour.
