LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government has introduced an initiative allowing citizens to earn thousands of rupees by engaging in eco-friendly activities such as turning in plastic bottles, using electric bikes or scooters, reporting polluting vehicles, planting trees, cycling, and more.

Improving the environment has become crucial due to pollution and the devastating effects of climate change. Under the Punjab government’s Green Credit Program, citizens can receive 2,500 rupees simply by depositing one kilogram of empty plastic bottles. With a limit of four kilograms per person, there is a golden opportunity to earn up to 10,000 rupees.

Citizens will receive up to 100,000 rupees for using electric bikes or scooters: 50,000 rupees upon purchase, and another 50,000 rupees after riding the vehicle for 6,000 kilometers.

Moreover, the Punjab Green Credit Program encompasses 38 eco-friendly initiatives—including reporting polluting vehicles, identifying smoke-emitting brick kilns that lack “zigzag technology,” harvesting rainwater, and planting ten saplings—allowing citizens to easily earn thousands of rupees by participating.

The primary objective of this Punjab government program is to involve citizens in environmental conservation efforts and encourage individual contributions toward reducing pollution.

Through the Green Credit Program, citizens are being encouraged to adopt practices such as reducing plastic waste, planting trees, conserving water, and using clean transportation.
