Rockstar Games announced today that the pre-order for GTA 6 (VI) will launch on June 25. If you want to receive an alert when this happens, you can now include the game in your wishlist in the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store.
Here’s how the cover will look
GTA VI cover art confirmed, Rockstar, announcing the pre-order opening date, also confirmed the official cover of GTA VI. This is another step in the long wait that precedes the arrival of the game, marked in recent years by different delays.
How much will it cost?
Rockstar did not mention anything about the price of the video game. It is likely to become known next June 25. The company, Take-Two Interactive, previously stated that it wanted to “control” the price of its products.

GTA VI release date
Rockstar will officially land in stores on November 19, 2026. Although pre-orders for GTA VI will start next week, we are still many months away from the release.
Which consoles is GTA 6 coming to?
A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S release has been confirmed – although Rockstar is yet to confirm a release date or PC version. A Nintendo Switch 2 release also remains to be confirmed.
A price has yet to be officially announced for Rockstar’s latest crime sandbox – a price will likely only be confirmed when pre-orders open later this year in late June, as one analyst has predicted this may be the first GTA title to cost $100.
A launch-day expanded online experience hasn’t yet been confirmed by Rockstar, but based on the monumental success of GTA Online, an updated service seems likely.
Where is GTA 6 set, and who are the protagonists?
GTA 6 will include the first-ever playable female protagonist set in 3D – and that character is called Lucia. She will be accompanied by her other half (in life and crime), called Jason, who is also a playable character.
In this chapter, we appear to have a Bonnie and Clyde kind of narrative with Jason and Lucia taking on a “scoring gone wrong” escapade throughout America’s criminal underworld, which is demonstrated in the two gameplay trailers that Rockstar has released.

Just like many of its prior games, the sixth chapter is situated in Leonida, an in-universe state inspired by the United States state of Florida. So players can relive some nostalgia, you can also expect a remake of Miami-inspired, Vice City, which will act as a key destination in the state of Leonida.
On the 18th June, Rockstar released GTA 6’s cover, and fans noticed some references to its setting in the cover photo, which included flamingos and alligators.
