WINSTON-SALEM, USA (Kashmir English): German football team spotted a venomous snake at their training camp in the US.

Captain of the German national football team, Joshua Kimmich, revealed that team members spotted a venomous snake at the team’s training center, after which players and coaching staff were advised to take special precautions.

Speaking to the media in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the skipper stated that the team was informed that the snake was venomous and that immediate hospitalization would be necessary if anyone were bitten.

He told media that although such snake bites usually pose a low risk to life, the situation could still prove dangerous.

German media

German media reported the snake spotted was likely a ‘copperhead viper’ species, which is common in the area and whose venom may require immediate medical attention.

The German Football Federation didn’t change the side’s routine after the incident, but players were advised to be cautious.

On the other hand, the Austrian authorities have banned players from using bicycles at their training camp due to the risk of snakes.
