PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): At least four suspect of gang rape case have reportedly been killed by unknown assailants affiliated with the same gang in an attack carried out on the police in Peshawar.
According to reports, four accused, along with the police, were traveling to the site of the crime scene for verification when they were ambushed and fired upon by unidentified gunmen.
The police claimed that while traveling in a vehicle to investigate a crime committed in the city of Peshawar, they received random fire from unidentified people who killed the four detainees on board the police vehicle. No injuries were reported among the police.
The four suspects who were executed included Amir son of Iftikhar; Jalal, alias Raja son of Meraj; Chacha son of Qadous; and Amdas.
These suspects were apprehended following allegations against them for gang-raping inside the domestic compound of one family living in Garhi Mosam Khan in Peshawar district the previous day.
A case had been registered regarding this matter at the Rehman Baba police station.
As per police reports, the accused reportedly scaled the walls of the residential area and committed rape against women inside the house by threatening them with guns.
The case registration took place on September 6 at Rehman Baba Police Station under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, which include provisions related to robbery and rape, as well as under the Child Protection Act.
According to police reports, weapons involved in the crime have also been seized and the perpetrators of the crime.
Female cops have been appointed to stay in touch with the victims, along with psychological counseling, according to investigative reports. It has been stated in legal terms that information pertaining to the identity of both the suspects and victims cannot be disclosed.
The investigation depends upon forensic results and other pieces of evidence obtained from the crime scene. Investigations regarding the shooting case as well as the previous sexual abuse case continue.
