ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday approved a four-day public holiday on the occasion of Eidul Adha 2025.

As per details, the four-day holidays will begin on Friday, June 6, and will extend through to Monday, June 9.

During the holidays, all government and private offices, educational institutions, and banks across the country will remain closed.

The announcement after the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on June 7 all across the country, following the Zilhaj moon sighted on May 28.

Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of the most important Islamic holidays. Muslims around the world celebrate it in remembrance of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah.

On this day, Muslims offer special prayers and sacrifice animals such as goats, cows, or camels. The meat is then distributed among family, friends, and the poor.

The citizens have been asked to make proper arrangements for animal sacrifices and to follow health and safety guidelines during the Eid holidays.
