ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has come under scrutiny over what has been described as highly negative reporting on Pakistan, particularly in its coverage of terrorism and Pakistan-Afghanistan relations.
Senior journalist Talat Hussain, citing sources, revealed that the reporting against Pakistan in both aspects is neagtive 74% and 68%, respectively.
He added that , 77% of BBC Pakistan stories do not have name byline, raising questions on the credibility of the stories.
Moreover, every two of three stories by BBC Pakistan stories do not have any take from the official sources.
The findings also highlighted significant differences in the sourcing practices of BBC journalists. One journalist reportedly quoted official sources in only 4 percent of 100 stories, while another journalist had not quoted any official source in the stories reviewed.
