MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority has launched a crackdown on substandard and unhealthy dry fruits in Muzaffarabad’s markets.
Acting on public complaints, the authority inspected various markets and commercial centers, checking the quality, storage, and sanitation arrangements of dry fruits like walnuts, almonds, and pistachios.
Two shops were sealed on the spot, and substandard dry fruits were seized for selling damp and inferior products in unsanitary conditions.
The authority has directed citizens to purchase only certified and packaged products and report any suspicious shopkeepers.
This action is part of the authority’s efforts to provide safe and nutritious food to the public, under the Food Authority Act 2017 and Pure Food Regulation 2019.
