ISLAMABAD (Kashmir Digital): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Iftikhar Gillani on Sunday rejected reports regarding a possible change in the state’s constitutional status, calling the claims propaganda and saying the government has no such intention.
In his first exclusive interview with Kashmir Digital after assuming the prime minister’s office, the prime minister also said there was no such proposal or intention about the change in the status of AJK and that the issue was being raised to create confusion and keep certain political figures relevant.
When asked about former AJK PM Sardar Attique Khan’s statement on the status change, Gillani said that propaganda is being done to keep them relevant.
The premier added that those making such claims should explain the basis of their information. He also urged political leaders, journalists, vloggers, and social media commentators to avoid spreading rumors that could create divisions and hatred among people.
