Citizens of Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, have strongly criticized Fazl-ur-Rehman—head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and former Chairman of the Kashmir Committee—for his ten-year performance and recent anti-state statements. They have demanded that he apologize to the entire nation on the floor of the House.
Residents of Muzaffarabad have expressed deep outrage regarding the recent statements and the ten-year track record of Fazl-ur-Rehman.
In a special conversation with Azad Digital, these citizens leveled harsh criticism against Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, citing both his anti-state remarks and his conduct in the past.
“He didn’t do a shred of work in 10 years.”
A resident of Muzaffarabad stated that during his long ten-year tenure as Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Fazl-ur-Rehman merely enjoyed official perks and financial benefits from the national exchequer.
Despite occupying the position for a decade—a role concerning a critical national and global issue—the Maulana “did not accomplish a single thing, other than lining his own pockets,” and in the process, caused severe damage to the Kashmir cause. “The State holds the status of a mother; mockery is intolerable.”
Expressing indignation over Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s criticism of the State’s existence and its role, citizens asserted that “the State is the foundation of everything; it is like a mother to its people.” They termed the Maulana’s statement—which negates this sacred bond and the status of the State—as utterly mocking and regrettable.

Fazl-ur-Rehman must apologize on the floor of the House.
Highlighting the sensitivity of the matter, citizens have demanded that Fazl-ur-Rehman offer an unconditional apology to the entire nation while standing on the “floor of the House” (in Parliament) for his inappropriate and derisive conduct.
This strong reaction indicates that the public is now openly coming forward to demand accountability from those who exploit national issues—particularly the Kashmir cause—for political gain, and from those who use inflammatory language against the State.
The unequivocal stance taken by the citizens of Muzaffarabad serves as clear proof that the people of Pakistan—including those in Azad Kashmir—will no longer remain silent spectators. The days of this “king of corruption”—who has advanced his political career in the name of the Kashmir issue while securing personal gains from within the halls of power—are numbered.
The public states that any elements attempting to construct an anti-State narrative or [undermine] national institutions… Those who dare to engage in the vile act of mockery must be brought to the dock; such elements must be held politically and morally accountable.
