Earthquake jolts Islamabad, Peshawar, KP cities

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A strong 5.6 magnitude earthquake has jolted Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on Friday afternoon.

The National Seismic Monitoring Center of the Meteorological Department stated that the earthquake originated at 05:15 PM, with an epicenter in the Hindukush Region in Afghanistan.

The depth of the 5.6 mag quake was measured at 120 Km.

The jolts were also felt in Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Batagram, Abbottabad, Balakot, Buner, Kohistan, and the cities of Gilgit Baltistan, including Ghizer, Jaglot, and Gilgit.
