MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A WhatsApp message allegedly originating from India is circulating on social media platforms and spreading false information regarding the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The fake message alleged the list, which stated that a total of 182 people have been injured, 60 have been admitted to hospitals, 10 patients have been referred to other medical facilities, and 14 deaths have been reported so far across the state.
The message further stated that in District Poonch, the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalakot reported 120 injuries on June 8, including 93 civilians, 22 police personnel, three Frontier Constabulary personnel, and two Rangers officials, which the officials have denied.
It also added that DHQ Hospital Sudhnoti reported seven injured police personnel, all of whom were admitted for treatment, which was also termed as misleading.
According to sources, the message contains misleading claims aimed at creating confusion and spreading misinformation about developments in the region.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid sharing unverified content and to rely only on authentic and credible sources of information.
