LAHORE (Kashmir English): Lahore Traffic Police have caught a motorcyclist carrying unpaid e-challans worth more than Rs2 million.
According to CTO Lahore Abdul Rahim Shirazi, citizen Baz Muhammad, who has a long record of traffic law violations, was stopped during a routine traffic check in Lahore.
During the verification of his records, it was revealed that 421 vehicles, including rickshaws and motorcycles, are registered in his name. This large number of registrations triggered further investigation by authorities.
Officials found that these vehicles carried unpaid e-challan fines totaling Rs2,088,800, based on which, the police seized and locked up a citizen’s motorcycle at the Muslim Town police station.
CTO Lahore said that all vehicles and motorcycles registered in the name of Baz Muhammad have been blacklisted.
He further said that more than 1 lakh e-challan defaulter vehicles and motorcycles have also been blacklisted in Lahore.
Abdul Rahim Shirazi added that the traffic police are increasing digital monitoring to catch repeat offenders. The system now helps identify individuals who ignore multiple e-challans over time.
