ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, and Azad Kashmir on Tuesday night.
The National Seismic Monitoring Center of PMD stated that the earthquake originated at 11:15 PM, with an epicenter in the Hindukush Region in Afghanistan.
The depth of the 5.3 mag quake was measured at 234 Km. The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Chitral, Swat, Dir, and Malakand, the PMD said.
Moreover, the earthquake was also felt in different areas of Azad Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Neelum, Leepa Valley, and Rawalakot.
The quake also jolted Gujrat, Mandi Bahuddin, Taxila, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Batagram, Abbottabad, Balakot, Buner, Kohistan, and the cities of Gilgit Baltistan, including Ghizer, Jaglot, and Gilgit.
