ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), is speaking during a press conference.

Captain (retd) Muhammad Khurram Agha, the interior secretary, stands with the military spokesperson. Amid increased tensions with India, the top officials are hosting the press conference.

During a joint press conference with the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the interior secretary strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack, expressing full solidarity with the families affected by the tragedy.

Captain (retd) Agha indicated that early findings suggest the involvement of Fitna al-Hind in the assault, describing it as part of India’s broader destabilisation agenda in the region.

He underscored that the attack in Khuzdar was not merely an act of terror, but a calculated strike against Pakistan’s cultural and educational foundations.

The senior official revealed that schoolchildren were intentionally targeted and accused Fitna al-Hindustan of attempting to disrupt regional stability through such violent means.

He added that the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the provincial administration and relevant agencies, is thoroughly examining all dimensions of the attack.

Captain (retd) Agha also alleged that after the failure of Operation Sundoor, India had directed its proxies to launch attacks within Balochistan.

He affirmed that Pakistan possesses the capability to dismantle such networks, noting that with their inability to hit hard targets, these groups are now targeting vulnerable populations. “Our response will be decisive. They will not succeed,” he concluded.

DG ISPR briefs on India-sponsored terrorism

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, while speaking at the joint press conference, said that Pakistan had already shared proof of Indian-backed terrorism with the United Nations in both 2015 and 2019.

He also recalled that in 2009, similar evidence was handed over to the Indian Prime Minister during a meeting in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

According to Lt Gen Chaudhry, India has been involved in sponsoring terrorism for the past two decades, and now this record is being made public. He reminded the global community of the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav from Pakistani soil and pointed out that many captured militants had confessed to receiving backing from India.

He stated that India’s objective was to disrupt peace in the region, and blamed the May 21 attack on Fitna al-Hindustan, which he said was acting under direct orders from the Indian state. Calling it the “terrorist and brutal face of India,” he emphasised that these attacks had no connection with Baloch or Pakistani identity.

Lt Gen Chaudhry further mentioned a series of attacks that had claimed innocent lives. On April 12, twelve labourers were martyred in Nushki. Just weeks later, on April 28, two more workers were killed in Tump Kech. Earlier this year, on February 14, ten lives were lost in a deadly IED blast in Harnai.

He noted that the Jaffer Express incident also led to the martyrdom of civilians and off-duty security personnel. On May 9, three barbers were killed in Lasbela.

Referring to the recent attack in Khuzdar, he said that six schoolchildren were martyred on May 21, while 51 other children were still battling for their lives.

Lt Gen Chaudhry said that these terrorists, following instructions from India, are now targeting women and children, but made it clear that the strength and spirit of the people of Balochistan will not be shaken.

DG ISPR said, “Only a madman would think India can cut off Pakistan’s water supply.” He also added, “We had intelligence that they would activate their assets, Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. Between 6 May and 10 May, Fitna al-Hindustan carried out 33 terrorist attacks.”

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that a number of Baloch individuals have surrendered after discovering the reality behind India’s involvement in fuelling unrest. He said video clips of these surrendered fighters were shown during the press conference, where they confessed to having received funds from India.

“These individuals admitted to receiving funding from India,” he said, before firmly stating, “Who is orchestrating all this? It’s India.”

He stated that Fitna al-Hindustan is now resorting to pressuring young girls into becoming suicide bombers. “These are Khawarij, who will spare the idolaters but slaughter Muslims,” he warned.

The DG ISPR also pointed out that Indian intelligence agencies are running thousands of social media accounts as part of a wider propaganda effort, including through platforms like DisinfoLab.

Sharing figures from January 2024 onwards, he said there have been 4,664 terror-related incidents across the country, and 1,018 terrorists have been killed in operations during that time.

He sent the world a clear message: “This Fitna al-Hindustan will never succeed in Pakistan.”
