ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Federal Directorate of Education has released the school summer vacations 2025 schedule for educational institutions operating under its jurisdiction. According to the official notification, school summer vacations will begin on June 5 and continue until August 1.
However, schools will reopen on August 5 due to the weekend holidays on August 2 and 3.
Additionally, revised school timings have been announced, effective from May 26 to June 4, during which schools will function from 7:30AM to 12:30PM. The directorate also confirmed that libraries and IT labs will remain operational during the summer break.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa school summer vacations
The KP government declared its summer break schedule a day earlier. In hot regions, primary schools will close from June 1 to August 31, while high and higher secondary schools will observe holidays from June 15 to August 31. In contrast, cold regions will have a shorter break from July 1 to July 31. These vacations apply to both public and private institutions.
Balochistan school summer vacations
In the hot zones of Balochistan, schools began their summer break on May 17, with holidays extending till July 31. Schools are scheduled to reopen on August 1.
Punjab school summer vacations
The Punjab government has set the summer vacation period from June 1 to August 14. However, the authorities have hinted that the break could start earlier if temperatures spike unexpectedly, prioritizing the safety of students and school staff amid ongoing climate concerns.
Sindh school summer vacations
In Sindh, both government and private schools will remain closed for summer holidays from June 1 to July 31. Officials have denied circulating rumours about an early start to vacations due to the heatwave.
This nationwide vacation plan reflects a coordinated response to rising temperatures, ensuring students and school personnel remain safe during the hottest months of the year.
