Munir, Ghalibaf meeting
In addition, he also held a separate meeting with Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf in Tehran, Iranian state media reported.
In the meeting on Saturday, Munir and Ghalibaf discussed a host of issues of mutual concern, especially the latest status of Pakistan-led diplomatic efforts to end the US-Israeli-imposed war on Iran, according to IRNA.
Referring to Iran’s steadfastness in the face of foreign aggression and pressure, Ghalibaf said the Iranian nation would excel diplomatically to realize its legitimate rights and secure national interests, just as it defended the Islamic Republic with courage and authority on the battlefield.

“We will not compromise on the rights of our nation, especially with a party that is not honest at all and has lost trust,” he said in reference to two unprovoked US-Israeli wars launched on Iran.
Ghalibaf further stated the United States started the war in the midst of negotiations and is now calling for dialogue to end it, but again violated the promise it made in Pakistan-mediated ceasefire by imposing a naval blockade on Iran.
The top parliamentarian directly addressed the Pakistani army chief, saying the military knows the value of peace more than anyone else, but the same military will never allow the dignity and rights of their country to be trampled upon.
Appreciating the Pakistani nation and government for their friendly and brotherly stance, including during the recent war, the top parliamentarian hoped that high-level interactions and cooperation between the two countries can be a model for other Islamic nations.
The first round of direct US-Iran talks was held in Islamabad on April 11 and 12 following a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire on April 8. The negotiations ended without an agreement, but the talks did not collapse.
