LAHORE (Kashmir English): Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party leader Shoaib Siddiqui has alleged that the Azad Kashmir elections were not transparent.
Alleging that the elections were rigged, he rejected the results.
In a conversation with a private TV channel, IPP leader Shoaib Siddiqui said that polling time ended at 5:00 and the result also arrived at 5:02.
“The result is that all votes have been cast for the PML-N. It is as if the presiding officers were sitting with the forms already prepared, it is better to have a direct selection than such elections.”
Shoaib Siddiqui said that the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir should take immediate notice. This is not an election but a selection which IPP rejects. “We want the election to be allowed to be transparent.”
IPP alleges ‘selection’ in AJK
Siddiqui stated that complaints are being received that “our polling agents have been thrown out, why were our polling agents kicked out of polling stations, let the election be free and fair and the truth will be revealed”.
It is worth noting that in the second phase of the Azad Kashmir elections, polling took place for the Muzaffarabad division and 12 refugee seats, in which Pakistan Muslim League (N) won the field, according to unofficial results.
In Lahore, IPP Punjab General Secretary Shoaib Siddiqui and IPP Lahore President Malik Zaman said that polling agents in Shahdara were kicked out as soon as polling ended, Form 24 and Form 27 were also not provided, while according to them, an attempt is being made to forcibly take the IPP won seat of LA 41.
