Sardar Tanveer Ilyas joins Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party along with his associates

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas on Thursday officially joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) along with his associates ahead of the 2026 election.

The politicians joined the party after meeting with President IPP Abdul Aleem Khan, according to the statement issued by the party.

Tanveer Ilyas’s associates, including government minister Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni, former health minister Nisar Ansar Abdali, and Sardar Iftikhar Rashid, joined the party.

Federal government minister and party chief Aleem Khan welcomed Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and other politicians and presented them with the party flags. The newly joined leaders expressed full confidence in Aleem Khan’s leadership.

Earlier today, AJK Legislative Assembly Members (MLA) candidate from LA-28 and PPP leader Taqdees Gillani met the IPP President and joined his party.

Other candidates for the AJK Legislative Assembly elections who have joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party include PML-N leader Ijaz Khatana from LA-16, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Tahir Khokhar from LA-39, and Maqbool Gujjar from LA-30.

On the occasion, senior IPP leaders, including Members of the National Assembly (MNA) Aun Chaudhry, Mian Khalid Mahmood, IPP Punjab President Rana Nazir Ahmed, and Secretary General Shoaib Siddiqui, were present.

Malik Yousaf, Malik Zulfiqar join IPP

Yesterday, the former PPP candidate from Kotli-III constituency LA-10, Malik Muhammad Yousaf, and former PML-N candidate from Kotli-I constituency LA-10, Malik Zulfiqar Ali Malik, formally joined the party.

On this occasion, Muslim League leaders from AJK Malik Muhammad Ilyas Chaudhry, Amir Qabil, Malik Nizam Iqbal Minhas, Malik Muhammad Mushtaq, and Malik Sarmad Ali also joined the party.

Other politicians, including Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, Majid Malik Advocate, Malik Khalid Mahmood, and former President of the Teachers’ Association, Hafiz Kazim Malik, were also present.

The party president, Abdul Aleem Khan, and additional secretary Muhammad Aun Saqlain Chaudhry welcomed the leaders and candidates.

Speaking on the occasion, Aleem Khan said that the problems of Azad Kashmir will be solved permanently, deprivations will be eliminated, and better infrastructure will create employment opportunities.

The IPP will participate fully in the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir, he said.
