PORT OF SPAIN (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s Test captain Babar Azam equaled former captain Imran Khan’s historic record in the Test series against the West Indies.
In this series against the West Indies, captain Babar Azam maintained his excellent batting form, scoring 193 runs in 4 innings, with an average of 96.50.
Babar Azam scored 23 runs in the first innings of the first Test, but scored a responsible half-century in the second innings.
His innings of 88 runs in the first innings of the second Test played a key role in giving Pakistan a significant lead of 43 runs.
In the final innings of the series, Babar scored an unbeaten 24 off 30 balls, which included 2 sixes and 2 fours, as Pakistan easily achieved the target of 75 runs.
For this outstanding performance, Babar Azam was jointly named Player of the Series along with West Indies all-rounder Justin Graves. Justin Graves scored 111 runs in 4 innings and also took 7 wickets.
With this, Babar Azam equaled the record for most Player of the Series awards in international cricket.
This was Babar Azam’s first Player of the Series award in his Test career, while this is his 10th award overall.
He has previously won this award 5 times in T20 Internationals and 4 times in ODIs.
With this achievement, Babar Azam, along with Imran Khan and Wasim Akram, has jointly won the most 10 Player of the Series awards from Pakistan in international cricket, while Waqar Younis is fourth on the list with 9 awards.
