MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir Weather: After days of intense heat, various parts of the country are likely to receive relief in the form of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rainfall.

According to the latest Pakistan weather update, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain across upper and central regions this evening, including several districts of Azad Kashmir.

Rain, strong winds, and thunder are expected in areas such as Neelum Valley, Leepa Valley, Bagh, Hattian Bala, Rawalakot, and Muzaffarabad. Some of the higher-altitude regions may also experience hailstorms.

The PMD has advised the public to take precautionary measures during storms and heavy rainfall.

On the previous day, Murree witnessed severe weather with strong winds, thunder, and rain. The storm led to the collapse of trees, rooftops, and signboards in various locations.

According to rescue sources, power supply was disrupted in multiple areas, and fallen trees blocked the road to Upper Dewal, which has since been cleared by the concerned authorities.

The Pakistan weather update also includes alerts for regions in Azad Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where thunderstorms and rain are expected this evening.

Upper Punjab cities such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum, along with Lahore, Sargodha, Khushab, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal, are likely to see rainfall.

In central Punjab, areas including Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Jhang, and Bhakkar may also receive rain accompanied by thunder, bringing a welcome drop in temperatures.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also be affected, with cities such as Peshawar, Swabi, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Charsadda, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Kohat, Karak, and Dera Ismail Khan expecting gusty winds and rainfall.

In the northern districts like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, and Battagram, there is a chance of hailstorms as well.

However, the southern provinces of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry. Cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana may face dusty winds, especially during the afternoon.

Similarly, most districts of Balochistan will continue to experience high temperatures and dry weather.

The PMD has advised citizens, especially farmers and travellers, to remain alert to sudden weather changes. It has also urged caution during windstorms and dust storms to prevent accidents.

While dry and hot weather is likely to persist in most of northern and central Pakistan over the coming days, light rain and hailstorms are expected at night in some upper and mountainous areas, according to the Pakistan and Azad Kashmir weather update.
