ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has warned that no political party or group seeking to create disorder will be allowed to enter Islamabad and shut down the capital at will.
According to the government, instructions have been issued to the Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to ensure that no government machinery, resources or personnel are used for political rallies or processions.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have also assured that individuals involved in disorder or violence will be arrested and dealt with according to the law.
The government welcomed the Islamabad High Court’s decision, describing it as an important ruling, while stressing that strict action should be taken against anyone who violates the court’s directives.
It further stated that, following the Islamabad High Court’s decision, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) should ensure that media outlets do not provide coverage that could facilitate or promote activities aimed at creating chaos and disorder in the capital.
The government maintained that anyone deliberately facilitating such activities despite the court’s directives could face legal consequences, and called for the strict implementation of the court order.
Officials reiterated that maintaining law and order and protecting the routine life of citizens in Islamabad remain the government’s priority.
