Amjad Hussain advocate named PPP candidate for GB Chief Minister

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has nominated Amjad Hussain Advocate for the post of Chief Minister in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to media reports, the PPP has nominated someone from the Gilgit region as the Chief Minister for the first time. Amjad Hussain Advocate is also the President of the PPP Gilgit-Baltistan.

Amjad Hussain Advocate won from GBA-1 Gilgit in the recent elections.

It should be noted that the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has announced the official results of 21 out of 24 constituencies. According to the notification issued by the Election Commission, the PPP won 9 seats, the Muslim League (N) 6, the IPP 4, the MWM 1 and an independent candidate won 1 seat.

As per the notification, the results of GBA-9 Skardu 3, GBA-17 Diamer 3 and GBA-15 Diamer 1 will be announced later. According to the Election Commission, out of the 6 reserved seats for women, 3 went to the PPP, 2 to the PML-N and one to the IPP.

Out of the 3 technocrat seats, the PPP, PML-N and IPP got one seat each.
