GUJRAT/MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) team won two silver and four bronze medals in the 15th National Women’s Wushu Championship in which teams from all over Pakistan including Azad Kashmir participated.
According to details, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gujrat Noor al Ain Qureshi attended the final ceremony of the 15th National Women’s Wushu Championship 2025 as a special guest and met with the participating players.

The event was held at Gujrat Gymnasium and was attended by young female athletes from Azad Kashmir, Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
This championship, organized in collaboration with the Gujrat Sports Department and Wushu Association, aimed to promote women’s participation in sports.
Addressing the participants, DC Noor al Ain Qureshi praised the enthusiasm and talent of the young players and expressed hope that they would represent their provinces with dedication and bring glory to Pakistan at the international level.
Athlete Momina, who brought glory to Azad Kashmir by winning a silver medal, while talking to Kashmir Digital, said that the Sports Board did not provide them with any support. “Our coach even bore the travel expenses.”
She said that they didn’t even get the winning prize. She said problems certainly arise in sports, adding girls will have to come towards sports. She had won a gold medal in the National Games.
Momina said that they are not provided with any assistance by the Sports Board.
She appealed that the government and Sports Board officials take steps to provide opportunities to the players.
