ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has ruled out the reversal of any article of the Azad Kashmir constitution.
In an interview to a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah said that bitterness often arises over some issue in politics. “Even during the Azad Kashmir elections, we have had bitterness with the PPP.”
In response to a question, he clarified that no constitutional amendment is going to be reversed in Azad Kashmir and all the propaganda being spread in this regard is baseless.
He said that to develop the region in a true sense, the government there is being further strengthened so that the public can get better facilities.
Serious discussion is ongoing on all important issues, including the talk of a share in the National Financial Commission (NFC) award. “A constitutional amendment could be considered to formally include Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the country’s journey of construction and development.”
Rana Sanaullah also clarified that there is no intention to minus any of the facilities that have been provided to the people of the region so far.
He said that former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider is speaking merely on the basis of a misunderstanding, whereas the ground realities are contrary to this and nothing of the sort is going to happen.
Talking about the banned Awami Action Committee, Rana Sanaullah revealed that terrorist elements have now formally joined this sit-in.
He said that the Awami Action Committee has now taken a completely new form.
Rana Sanaullah said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formally invited Mahmood Khan Achakzai for a meeting. “In this regard, there is no justification for presenting any excuse or reasoning regarding the choice of meeting place or location.”
He advised that Mahmood Khan Achakzai should meet amicably according to whatever time he requests or fixes with the Prime Minister and play his full and active role as the opposition leader.
