Three dead, 48 injured in Kohat police line blast

KOHAT (Kashmir English): A blast has been reported near the old Police Lines area in Kohat, according to initial information shared by Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the latest information, the Kohat Police Lines mosque and CTD office were reportedly targeted in the attack. Initial reports put the casualties at three dead and 48 injured, although these figures remain subject to confirmation by authorities.

Security forces have cordoned off the area, while police and army personnel are conducting operations in and around the site. Reports of an ongoing engagement with suspected militants have also emerged.

The blast has caused heightened security in the area, with the Kohat-Hangu Road reportedly closed to traffic following the incident.
Meanwhile, locals and relatives of those affected have gathered outside the hospital and other nearby areas.

Some protesters were reportedly raising slogans demanding answers from the provincial government and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi over the security situation.

Rescue 1122 teams were dispatched to the location and started relief and rescue operations. As said by Rescue 1122, several injuries occurred as a result of this incident. Ambulances on the way are rendering first aid to the injured before shifting them to hospitals for further treatment.

Currently, Rescue teams are conducting relief activities while emergency personnel keep on responding.
