MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): AJK Prime Minister Chuadhry Anwarul Haq emphasized the need to meet the deficit of Rs 71 billion in subsidies for electricity and flour from own resources.

A high-level meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister to discuss the upcoming budget 2025-26.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, Secretary Finance Islam Zeb Khan, and Principal Secretary Zafar Mahmood Khan. During the meeting, the Finance Secretary gave a detailed briefing to the premier.

Prime Minister Haq stated that priority will be given to public interest projects in the upcoming budget. He added that focus will be given to improving healthcare services for citizens, and enhancing education infrastructure and services.

The meeting also decided to prioritise the degradation of infrastructure to promote tourism and economic growth, and that funds will be allocated specifically for the welfare of ordinary citizens.

The government aims to allocate resources effectively, ensuring development projects benefit the general public and promote economic growth in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
