DHAKA (Kashmir English): Bangladesh’s young fast bowler Mehdi Hasan Hardoy has died of blood cancer while being transported to Dhaka for medical treatment, according to Bangladeshi media reports.

Hardoy, a left-arm fast bowler and member of the Chittagong Division Under-18 cricket team, was considered a promising talent in Bangladesh’s junior cricket circuit.

He reportedly passed away in an ambulance before reaching a hospital in Dhaka, where he was being taken for advanced medical care.

In July this year, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports reportedly provided 500,000 taka each to support his treatment.

Despite efforts to save his life, the young cricketer could not recover from the illness.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board expressed deep sorrow over Hardoy’s death and extended condolences to his family, mourning the loss of a promising young player.
