ISLAMABAD ( Kashmir English): The official price of broiler meat has been reduced by Rs7 per kilogram to Rs570, according to the latest rate list issued by the Market Committee.
The committee has fixed the wholesale price of live broiler chicken at Rs379 per kg, while the retail rate has been set at Rs393 per kg.
Despite the official price adjustment, residents have complained about overcharging in the market. According to consumers, shopkeepers are selling dressed broiler meat for as much as Rs650 per kg, significantly above the official rate for broiler meat.
Meanwhile, the official price of farm eggs remains unchanged at Rs267 per dozen. The wholesale price of an egg crate has been fixed at Rs7,890.
Consumers have called for effective price monitoring to ensure that poultry products are sold according to officially notified rates.
