KARACHI (Kashmir English): Bestway Group has launched Chinese automaker Geely Auto in Pakistan, introducing three new energy vehicles: the Geely EX2 electric hatchback, Geely EX5 electric SUV, and Geely Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV.
At the launch, Bestway Group Managing Director Irfan Muhammad Shaikh said Bestway Automotive is the sole authorised distributor of Geely in Pakistan. The move marks the group’s entry into the automotive industry as part of its long-term investment strategy.
Initially, the company will import vehicles while preparing its 24.71-acre facility at Port Qasim, Karachi, for completely knocked down (CKD) assembly.
The plant has more than 403,000 square feet of covered space and an existing capacity to assemble up to 25,000 vehicles annually. Bestway aims to introduce locally assembled Geely vehicles by next year.
Warranty, Financing and Charging Network
Bestway plans to establish a nationwide dealership network and offer online bookings and vehicle financing through United Bank Limited (UBL).
The proposed warranty includes coverage of up to six years or 150,000 kilometres for vehicles, along with an eight-year warranty for batteries and motors. The company also plans to develop a nationwide electric vehicle charging network through Bestway Renewable Technologies.
Prices, booking dates and final vehicle specifications have yet to be announced.
Geely’s Global Presence
Geely Holding Group sold approximately 4.12 million vehicles worldwide in 2025, including 2.29 million new energy vehicles. Its portfolio includes Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Zeekr and Lynk & Co.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s car sales increased by 43% year-on-year in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, according to the cited industry report.
Bestway Group, founded in London in 1976, operates across several sectors, including cement, banking, wholesale and renewable energy. Its Pakistani investments include Bestway Cement and a stake in UBL.
The launch adds another international automotive brand to Pakistan’s growing electric and hybrid vehicle market, with locally assembled models expected to follow next year.
