MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police have alleged that thousands of members of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) were armed and attacked police personnel in groups during recent protests in Rawalakot and surrounding areas.

Addressing a press conference in Muzaffarabad, AJK Police spokesperson SSP Muhammad Riaz Mughal claimed that more than 350 police personnel were injured in incidents involving shootings and stabbing by JAAC miscreants.

Mughal added that elements of Fitna Al-Khawarij were also present at the protest of the banned action committee.

“Members of the proscribed organisation had been involved in violent crimes and were inciting violence to pursue their political objectives,” he stated.
