SYDNEY (Kashmir English): Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell on Monday announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a career spanning more than a decade.

According to a cricket website, the 38-year-old made the announcement on Monday. He represented Australia in all three formats and was part of the teams that won the 2015 and 2023 ODI World Cups, as well as the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Maxwell played seven Test matches, 149 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 130 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for Australia.

He made his international debut in an ODI against Afghanistan in August 2012, scoring 3,990 runs and taking 77 wickets in the format. His highest ODI score was 201.

He made his T20I debut against Pakistan in September 2012 and went on to score 2,897 runs and claim 51 wickets in 130 matches. His highest score in the format was 145.

Maxwell made his Test debut against India in 2013. He scored 104 runs in his highest individual innings and recorded his best bowling figures of four for 127.

Known for his aggressive batting and ability to hit sixes, Maxwell had struggled with form in recent years. He had already retired from ODI cricket in June 2025.
