MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court has denied false, baseless, and fabricated news circulating on social media against the former Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain and his family.

In a press release issued on Monday, the High Court registrar stated that the news appears to be linked to a notification, dated June 20, 2025, cancelling earlier promotions made during the former Chief Justice’s tenure.

Earlier on Friday, the newly appointed Chief Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain cancelled the promotion orders issued by the former Chief Justice in his final days. In total, 26 notifications, dated from April 03, 2025, to June 04, 2025, were cancelled.

The High Court clarified that the issuance or cancellation of notifications is an administrative and internal matter, done with the approval of the competent authority. The court strongly denied all false and baseless news circulating on social media, warning that spreading such news will be considered impeachable and arrestable behavior in the future.

“Therefore, spreading false, fabricated, and baseless news on the basis of the notification issued by this office should be avoided,” the statement read.

“Until a regular press release is issued by the High Court, individuals are advised to refrain from spreading any kind of news on their own.”

The press release noted that the former Chief Justice of the High Court has retired on completion of his term of service after rendering valuable services.
