MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has stated that the letter circulating on social media claiming that the general elections in AJK have been postponed is fake.
The spokesperson for the Election Commission clearly and strictly rejected this letter as fake and informed the general public that the aforementioned letter has no connection with either the Election Commission of Pakistan or the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir.
All political parties, candidates, media representatives, and the public are requested not to believe such baseless and misleading information at all.
“Trust only the official announcements issued by the Election Commission and news released by the Department of Information.”
The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir reiterated that the general elections will be held at the scheduled time as per the issued election schedule.

“Any change in the election program, if ever made, will be announced only through the authorized and official notification of the Election Commission.”
The Election Commission has appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified and fake information and to demonstrate responsible behaviour by trusting only information obtained through authentic sources.
