MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The chairman of the All Parties Parliamentary Kashmir Group, Barrister Imran Hussain, has called an emergency meeting of the group’s officials next week at the British Parliament. The move comes in response to the escalating border and regional tensions between Pakistan and India.

Former chairperson of the All Parties Parliamentary Kashmir Group, MP Debbie Abrahams, strongly condemned the tragic incident that recently took place in the Pahalgam area of Illegaly Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She urged both Pakistan and India to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the attack as quickly as possible.

Speaking about the recent exchanges of fire between the armed forces of the two nuclear-armed neighbours, Debbie Abrahams expressed deep concern. She stressed the urgent need for both countries to ease tensions to prevent harm to civilian populations.

Meanwhile, Raja Najabat Hussain, the founding chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International, is currently visiting Pakistan. Sensing the seriousness of the situation, he has begun rapid communications with British Members of Parliament and government officials. He aims to push for immediate action to help reduce tensions between Pakistan and India.

Raja Najabat Hussain has already sent letters to over 200 British MPs, expressing alarm over India’s aggressive actions and their impact on regional peace. He is actively working to ensure that the All Parties Parliamentary Kashmir Group and the British government focus on this issue with urgency.

In his letters, Raja Najabat Hussain has respectfully appealed to British MPs and the government to raise parliamentary questions regarding the Kashmir conflict. He urged them to highlight the dangerous situation in South Asia caused by India’s actions and to press for diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating the tensions between India and Pakistan.
