MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Information Minister Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah urged government officers in a review meeting to promote digital responsibility on social media, combat fake news, and ensure accurate information reaches the public.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Minister of Information, Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, has emphasised the need to promote digital responsibility through social media to counter misinformation and social unrest. The spread of false information along with chaos throughout the digital space would begin to decrease when truth and positivity become major elements of online culture.
He urged people to use social media for constructing beneficial content while reflecting authentic information and worthwhile aspects of the community structure.
During his meeting with Information Department officers, the Minister emphasized how social media misuse created fake news and fostered social divisions within society. The minister highlighted that media evolution requires both adaptation to contemporary issues and the adoption of accountable digital procedures.
The Minister urged the Information Department officers to play an active role in maintaining the government’s reputation and credibility. He advised them to utilise modern tools and enhance their skills to stay relevant in today’s rapidly changing media environment.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Information Sardar Adnan Khurshid, Raja Amjad Hussain Minhas, Mohammad Bashir Mirza, as well as divisional and district officers of the Information Department. All district officers shared performance updates with the Minister who showed complete approval during that session. The Minister told officers to keep striving toward better work methods as well as higher operational efficiency.
The department received direction from him to actively promote development projects of the Azad Kashmir government while providing the public with correct verified information. The Minister emphasized the importance of media in molding public perception while urging society to build stronger media platforms that benefit the community.
According to him, today’s society requires the development of an online environment which promotes public welfare alongside social harmony.
