Momina Iqbal, Hamza Habib confirm marriage amid ongoing controversy

LAHORE (Kashmir English): A major development has come to light amid the ongoing controversy regarding the marriage of Pakistan’s renowned actress Momina Iqbal, as her fiancé Hamza Habib confirmed that the two have officially tied the knot.

Speaking to the media during his appearance at the Lahore High Court (LHC), Hamza Habib said, “Alhamdulillah, our marriage has taken place. Momina Iqbal is now my legal wife.”

Hamza Habib has confirmed that the two got married two days ago and are now not just fiancées but legally husband and wife. He further said that he will take all possible steps for the protection and honor of his wife.

On the other hand, the LHC granted Hamza Habib’s protective bail and directed him to approach the relevant court by June 1.

A case has been registered against him by the Jhang police, which includes the allegation of threatening MPA Saqib Khan Chadhar.

Speaking outside the court, Hamza Habib described the case as political and baseless, adding that an attempt was made to pressure him.

He also alleged that Saqib Chadhar had offered him financial benefits in exchange for separating from Momina Iqbal. “Momina is my honor, my wife, and my lioness,” he said emotionally.

After his statement, a series of well-wishes and congratulatory comments from fans on social media for the new couple also started.

It should be noted that actress Momina Iqbal has made serious allegations against PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar, after which an investigation is underway by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

Momina Iqbal case

Earlier, actress Momina Iqbal filed a case against MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sameera Khan, regarding online harassment against her. Later, the NCCIA summoned Momina Iqbal and Saqib Khan on May 22.

In her Instagram story, Momina said that after reporting cases to various agencies, including NCCIA, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Punjab Police, no action has been taken due to political pressure.

Momina further added that not only is she being asked to stop pursuing her case, but they are still being threatened.

She appealed to all authorities concerned to take action for their safety and also requested the court to investigate their matter fairly and impartially.

The actress even made use of her social media account to tag important figures, departments, and media outlets to express her assurance that those who misuse their power or interfere with justice will surely face legal consequences.
