Indian passenger arrested in Australia for sexual harassment on flight

PERTH, Australia (Kashmir English): A 52-year-old Indian citizen has been arrested in Australia for sexually harassing a fellow passenger during an international flight.

The flight flew from Singapore to Perth. The Australian Federal Police confirmed that the incident occurred earlier this week abroad a Scoot Airlines flight, the New York Post reported.

The accused has been identified as Sudhir Kumar Chauhan. He allegedly sexually harassed a woman seated next to him during the journey.

The woman immediately informed the cabin crew about the incident, after which she was moved to another seat.

The airline staff monitored the situation for the remainder of the journey while informing law enforcement officials on the ground.

As soon as the flight arrived in Perth, police officers boarded the aircraft and took the Indian passenger in custody.

He has since been formally charged with sexual contact without consent and multiple counts of indecent acts without consent.

According to media reports, a court has denied bail to Chauhan.
