LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Punjab, Saqib Chadhar, has denied the allegations levelled against him by actress and model Momina Iqbal, claiming that there has been no contact between the two for the past eight months.
In a clarification statement, Saqib Chadhar said that Momina Iqbal was playing the women card and asserted that he possesses complete records regarding the matter.
According to the PML-N lawmaker, Iqbal’s fiancé allegedly threatened him after watching a video related to the controversy.
Chadhar stated that he has already filed a complaint at the police station regarding the threats he received. He further claimed that Momina Iqbal’s mother had contacted him and apologised, adding that if any allegations regarding phone calls or contact are being made, evidence should be presented publicly.
On the other hand, Momina Iqbal’s sister, Rimsha Iqbal, said the family did not want to excessively highlight the issue in the media. “While the family faced difficulties during the controversy, they also received support and security from the government,” she said.
Momina further added that not only is she being asked to stop pursuing her case, but they are still being threatened.
She appealed to all authorities concerned to take action for their safety and also requested the court to investigate their matter fairly and impartially.
The actress even made use of her social media account to tag important figures, departments, and media outlets to express her assurance that those who misuse their power or interfere with justice will surely face legal consequences.
