LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat has been ruled out of the series against Bangladesh after he suffered a shoulder injury during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
He injured his left shoulder while trying to stop a boundary off Litton Das’ bat during the sixth over of the chase.
Talat ran towards the cover boundary and tried to drag the ball back just as it got close to the boundary, but he tumbled into the advertising hoardings, landing heavily on his left shoulder.
Fellow players and medics rushed towards Talat where he was given inital medical care, before he was taken to the nearby ambulance. He was later shifted to the hospital for a detailed examination.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the all-rounder received immediate medical attention from the team’s medical staff on the field.
“Following the initial assessment, he has been taken to a hospital for a detailed examination. The nature and extent of the injury will be determined after the doctors complete further medical evaluation,” the PCB said in an earlier press release.
The injury is also expected to keep him out of the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League, dealing a significant setback to the player.
Zaman Khan injury
Fast bowler Zaman Khan also suffered a shoulder injury in the National T20 tournament at Imran Khan stadium in Peshawar, which has made his participation in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) doubtful.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Zaman Khan sustained a dislocation of Acromioclavicular Joint (ACJ) on his right shoulder, while fielding during the Faisalabad v Peshawar fixture.
PCB has instructed Zaman Khan to report to the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on March 14, where the PCB’s medical panel will formulate Zaman Khan’s recovery and rehab plan.
“He will report to the National Cricket Academy, Lahore on 14 March and in consultation with the PCB Medical team the further course of action regarding his recovery and rehabilitation programme will be charted,” the PCB said in a press release.
The Cricket Board has said that Zaman Khan’s fitness recovery may take 4 to 6 weeks. It is worth noting that the fast bowler was part of Rawalpindi Pindiz’s squad in the upcoming PSL edition.
