DHAKA (Kashmir English): Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first in the first match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series.

Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first in the match being played at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Speaking after the toss, Pakistan cricket team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi said that if Pakistan had won the toss, it would have been decided to bat first on this track.

He said that considering this wicket, a score between 270 and 280 runs could prove to be a good and suitable total for the competition.

Four players are making their ODI debuts for the Pakistan cricket team in this match. Sahibzada Farhan, Moaz Sadaqat, Abdul Samad, and Shamil Hussain are playing the first ODI international match of their careers. The debut of four players at the same time in the Pakistan team is being described as a major development.

This is the first time since 2008 that the Pakistan cricket team has given such a large number of players their ODI debut in a single match.
