ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that “We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours”.

In a statement shared on social media, the PM Shehbaz Sharif said preparations were underway for the electronic signing of the agreement, followed by technical-level talks scheduled for next week. He expressed optimism that the deal would lay the foundation for lasting peace in the region and acknowledged the support of international partners during the negotiation process, including the United States and Iran.

“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week,” the statement read.

He further thanked the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their “ongoing commitment during the negotiations” and appreciated regional partners for their support, expressing confidence that the agreement would contribute to long-term stability.

Meanwhile, further diplomatic and technical preparations are underway ahead of the expected signing, with discussions continuing on implementation mechanisms and post-agreement frameworks. The process is being viewed as a significant diplomatic development, with anticipated implications for regional stability, trade relations, and broader conflict resolution efforts.

The effort is being credited to the leadership facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who have played a role in enabling continued engagement between key stakeholders.
