ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is allowing women in Pakistan to get their CNIC without a birth certificate from 9th to 13th March. The campaign, which runs during the International Women’s Day period, enables women to obtain their legal identity documents.
Women’s CNIC without birth certificate registration will help women access education, banking, voting, and government services. NADRA officials will reserve half of their office counters to serve women, customers only.
Special help desks will assist women throughout their registration journey. These steps make it easier for first-time applicants and women who lack a birth certificate. The public should know that the campaign provides women with an immediate opportunity to acquire their legal identification documents, according to a NADRA representative.
The authorities want women who have not registered or lost their CNICs to participate in the program. Women CNIC without birth certificate registration ensures every woman can claim her rights and civic protections. The campaign intends to increase the number of registered women throughout Pakistan.
Therefore, officials urge families and communities to inform women about this opportunity. The law requires citizens to obtain a CNIC, yet it remains their personal choice. Officials predict the campaign will boost women’s registration significantly.
The dedicated counters, together with staff support, will help women who faced registration difficulties to complete their registration process. Women CNICs without birth certificate registration help them gain access to social protection programs nationwide.
Earlier, NADRA announced easy way to get NICOP if lost or expired. According to a statement issued by NADRA, if your NAICOP card has expired, is lost, or damaged, you can get a new card issued from any NADRA office across Pakistan. It can also be reissued through the PakID app.

- There is a self-service kiosk facility at NADRA mega centers where the applicant can submit the application by entering his/her number, updating biometric verification, photo, and signature
- Digital means like e-Sahulat, Easypaisa, Jeez Cash, and Rast can be used to pay the fee
Categories of NICOP
Applicants can choose Normal, Urgent, or Executive categories as per their requirements
According to NADRA officials, the entire process can be completed from home through NADRA’s mobile application. In case of applying through Pak ID, the card will be delivered to the address provided by the applicant worldwide.
Earlier, the Federal Government officially announced extensive changes to the National Identity Card Rules 2002 and the Pakistan Origin Card Rules 2002, which represent a significant advancement toward establishing a complete digital NADRA identity system.
The amendments, which were issued through S.R.O. 330(I)/2026 and S.R.O. 331(I)/2026 under Section 44 of the NADRA Ordinance 2000, were published in the Gazette of Pakistan on February 24, 2026.
The country is now modernizing its identity documentation system through research that implements QR verification systems, increases its biometric authentication capabilities, and introduces new card designs for different citizen groups.
