BANNU (Kashmir English): The responsibility for the Bannu suicide attack has been claimed by Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen (IMP), a sub-group of Fitna-ul-Khawarij of Hafiz Gul Bahadur.
The plot of the suicide attack on the Pakistan Army vehicle in Bannu has traced to Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a Khawarij in Afghanistan.
The main leader of this group, Gul Bahadur, and his key commanders have taken refuge in Afghanistan. The Hafiz Gul Bahadur group is involved in terrorism and sedition in Pakistan using Afghan soil.
Last year, on March 4, 2025, during Ramadan, the same group attacked Bannu Cantt, which was planned from Afghanistan. On September 2, 2025, during the Fitna-ul-Kharij attack on the Federal Constabulary, Major Adnan Shaheed was martyred while fighting bravely.
This group has claimed responsibility for several attacks in North and South Waziristan, including Mir Ali. It was later proven that these attacks were also planned and facilitated from Afghanistan.
The presence of the main leaders of Fitna al-Kharij, including Hafiz Gul Bahadur, in Afghanistan is proof that Afghan soil is being used for terrorism.
The Afghan Taliban regime’s support for terrorist organizations clearly shows that terrorists have safe havens in Afghanistan.
Evidence has also shown that More than 70 percent of the elements involved in terrorist incidents in Pakistan are of Afghan origin or belong to networks linked to Afghanistan.
The Afghan Taliban regime’s patronage of terrorists is continuously sabotaging peace efforts in the region.
Lt Colonel among two soldiers martyred in Bannu
Earlier, two security personnel, including Lt Colonel Shahzada Gul Faraz, embraced martyrdom, while five terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on Saturday, the military’s media wing said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij targeted a convoy of security forces while an IBO was being conducted on the reported presence of Khwarij, including a suicide bomber.
“A vehicle-borne suicide bomber was intercepted by the leading group, foiling his nefarious design to target innocent civilians/ Law enforcement personnel in Bannu City, averting a major catastrophe,” it stated.
The press release said that during the conduct of the operation, khwarij were located and after an intense fire exchange, five khwarij were sent to hell by the security forces.
“However, in desperation, Khwarij rammed the explosive-laden vehicle into one of the vehicles of the leading group.”
“Resultantly, Lt Colonel Shahzada Gul Faraz (age: 43 years, resident of District Mansehra), a brave commanding officer renowned for his daring actions, who was leading his troops from the front, embraced shahadat alongwith Sepoy Karamat Shah (age: 28 years, resident of District Peshawar),” it said.
The ISPR said that Khwarij are continuing with their terrorist activities inside Pakistan using Afghan soil, violating the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan, which clearly indicates that they have no link with Islam.
“The Afghan Taliban Regime has yet again failed to stop the Khwarij from using Afghan soil for terrorist activities inside Pakistan, that too in the holy month of Ramadan. Pakistan will not exercise any restrain and operations will continue against the perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act for justified retribution against Khwarij irrespective of their location.”
