BANNU (Kashmir English): Security forces have killed five terrorists so far in an intelligence-based operation against Khawarij in the Sara Darga area of Bannu, sources said on Saturday.
During the operation, a suicide attacker rammed a motorcycle rickshaw into a military vehicle leading the way. The commanding officer in the vehicle, Lieutenant Colonel Sahibzada Gul Faraz, was reportedly martyred.
On a tip-off, the Pakistan Army took action against elements associated with the Fitna Al Khawarij, sources said.
Immediately after the explosion, a large contingent of security forces reached the spot and launched a search operation by cordoning off the area. The operation is still ongoing.
